The TAU ELIA Office
The TAU Office of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) is the institution’s frontline arm in the University’s thrust to expand horizons on partnership development, increase its consortia or organizational memberships, and advance its internationalization and global engagement.

As an administrative office under the Office of the President, it primarily serves as the University’s channel in conceptualizing innovative programs intended to sustain and strengthen its existing linkages and establish a global representative network in carving its name in the international academic map.

Driven to instigate the University’s vision to become a recognized higher education institution in the Southeast Asian Region, the ELIA Office aggressively takes imperative initiatives to develop a resilient internationalization engagement, to build relevant opportunities for faculty and students towards cross border mobility and internationalization of higher education, and to redesign the institution’s capability in escalating memberships in alliances and networks.

Mandated to incessantly sustain institutional relations and alliance with other educational institutions, relevant government and non-government agencies, industries and other sectors of the society that can assist in accomplishing its task in accordance with the University’s strategic plan, the ELIA Office explores and identify possibilities of linkage development, cooperation and partnership with various sectors, local or international on areas that redound to the realization of its vision and mission.

Most significantly, the ELIA Office envisions to serve as a meaningful international resource for the local community by creating awareness on globalization/internationalization, ASEAN integration, culture and language of other countries, by inciting interest and appreciation of the language and culture of other nations, and by developing competent glocal graduates in addressing the current demands of the world labor market.


Functions of the ELIA Office

The Office of External Linkages and International Affairs shall:
-
strategize and coordinate processes that seek to align and integrate policies, programs, and initiatives to position the University as more globally-oriented and internationally-engaged institution in consonance with the provisions of CMO No. 55, s. 2016 and other related issuances relevant to the operations of the Office;
-
formulate an essential framework for implementing internationalization, quality assurance and mutual recognition across the academic curricula and instigate co-curricular activities to ensure that all students are exposed to international perspectives in building their international competence and global citizenship for enhanced employability, in coordination with concerned offices;
-
spearhead the implementation of the TAU internationalization program to advance TAU’s international identity, reputation and visibility through articulated institutional commitment, partnership development, university representation and organizational promotions;

promote multidimensional internationalization, multicultural intelligence, and multidisciplinary diversity for inclusive and transformative learning;

collaborate with other departments in optimizing the use of technology to create academic landscape for digital and global citizenship such as online learning, twinning programs, distance education and other non-conventional forms of instructional delivery;

develop, coordinate and manage partnerships which can provide international experiences for students and staff such as institutional affiliations, joint research, mobility programs, fellowships or internships;

engage stakeholders to trail blaze innovation, collaboration and external resource generation programs to strengthen institutional development, civic mission and maximize investment on University internationalization initiatives;

communicate updates, feedback and recommendation to the University President regarding partnership implementation opportunities to maximize partnership potentials;

regularly prepare consolidated reports relative to the status of collaborative activities and map the internationalization experience of the University

perform other duties and roles as may be delegated by the Board, University President, authorities and by law.
